My Silk Flower Arrangement
I just happened to be in Michael's when I found these on sale and thought, hmm could I possibly make a decent flower arrangement? LOL, it came out pretty good and I saved 75% off the original price. Go Nana!
Design encompasses so many aspects of life. We design our day to day activities and don't even realize it. I've decided, and I do mean it is a conscientious thought to recognize the design aspect of my life and bring it to the forefront. No more quiet presence in the background of life, but full on and in color.
When I say I've made a New Year's resolution, it's totally different than any that may have come before... as a matter of fact, I've never really made resolutions. We all know where those go, right?!
However, 2016 was life altering for me. To say this is truly an understatement, but in the words of my physician's, I'm not supposed to be here. I'm not supposed to be typing at this computer screen, in fact, had things been different... well, we aren't going to dwell on that, because they aren't different.
So here I am, in front of my computer, resolute. I will seize the day, I will do all the things I've put off until now, and I will make the most of everyday God has given me. Watch out folks, she's raring to go.. (is raring a word?)
The long and short of it, my design will be mostly in the realm of arts and crafts. During my "down" days, I would binge watch card making videos on youtube and I found a whole new world that I didn't realize existed. I wished I had known about it long before then because I wasn't sure I'd be around to "get to it"... hahaha! So, I researched like a mad woman on the best tools needed to be successful in card making and crafts.
In the past, I'd dabbled in scrapbooking, but I hadn't really had the time to learn technique. I didn't know what an embossing folder was any more than I know what a torque wrench is today. I've quickly learned not only what an embossing folder is, but the many ways to use it. The long and short of it is, out of the forced down time a passion for design and creating arose. It makes me think of a saying I've heard my whole life, "...when one door closes, another one opens...". Not sure what the origin of the phrase is - but boy does it pertain to my past year!
So come on in, take your shoes off, grab a cup of coffee and be ready to create. I'd like to take you on my journey and inspire you to find your own "design" whatever that means to you and yours!
Love Always,
Nana
P.S. The one thing I forgot to tell you, I'm a cheapskate! So expect to learn about how to do it yourself on a budget, a shoestring, in short, cheap! Keep smiling!
