"Valentine Shadow Box" on the fly!

Crafting can be defined as an adventure of epic proportions... Okay, I'm going a bit far in my assessment but when I look at my Valentine Shadow Box, I see all the fun I had in making it. Truth of the matter is, it was either going to be an epic disaster or an epic win... thank goodness for the latter.

The "LOVE" wall hanging was part of my Dollar Tree Valentine haul and I promised myself I would find something fun to do with it. Once I spied the square photo frame an idea bubbled in my head. It would be "epic" if I could create a shadow box from the two items - the big hurdle would be "how".

Now, if you recall, I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to crafting. Paper craft is my forte, I can scrapbook, card create, and box make all day long. But home decor crafting is a new arena. So, it was another challenge to overcome.

I uploaded the YouTube video for you to watch because you will literally see me making decisions on the fly. The plan was, get it done. Yes, that was it. Get it done. In other words, there was no plan. Feel free to smile, I am!

This whole project took literally, fifteen minutes. In the picture at the top, you can see where the flowers and the glitter heart actually fell into place around the "v". This was an organic occurrence, believe me, there's no way I could've gotten it to do that had I tried. Isn't it lovely when that happens? Sometimes, life even happens that way. We just need to let nature take its course and stop forcing things.

So, as this journey of home decor crafting, YouTube filming, and over-dub recording progresses, I tip my hat to those who came before me. For this is work folks. Real work. Getting the videos trimmed to a watchable time frame and keeping you interested is my primary mission, with the hopes of inspiring you to do the same.

Having spent the best part of the past year in bed, literally waiting for the next shoe to fall, I am having a blast. My energy level is growing with every project, every lost minute of sleep, and every sore muscle. None of that compares to the lethargy and torture of chemotherapy appointments, CT scans, and blood transfusions.

My immediate future is to live this life to its fullest potential and do what I've always wanted, create. Just LIVE to create a life worth living and give that energy to the ones I love. With all it's boo-boo's and mis-steps life is worth every moment whether good or bad. Having lived my bad, I am having the most epic of adventures. There's no glamour, just a lot of glue and glitter stuck to my clothes and fingers!

Here's to you for coming along for the ride, and thanks ever so much for stopping by.

Love always,

Nana
